The campaign "Indebted with our Rights" is an initiative of different social and non-governmental organizations worried about the problem of public debt and its regressive consequences for social rights.
Objectives of the campaign
General objectives:
- Inform and make ample sectors of the public and social movements aware of the problem of public, social and ecological debt, and its dimensions on a national, international, territorial and sectoral level.
- Explain the forms in which public debt can repercute in the daily life of people.
- Create feeding ground for social mobilization with respect to this subject in order to generate political and economical alternatives.
Specific objectives:
Contribute to the diagnostic and valorization of the consequences of public debt (external and internal) with respect to the application of certain social, economic, cultural and ambiental rights.
Assist social organizations in order for them to improve their understanding of the topics related to public debt, social and environmental, for them to include it in their working agenda.
Call upon the different sectors of the nation to discuss public endebtment, focusing on environmental topics, public servicos, territiorial debt and vulnerability of social rights.
